Are you tired of logging off, setting your compute
Are you tired of logging off, setting your computer to stand by or hibernate every time you leave your desktop? Or maybe you are working in a crowded environment and want to keep your work safe from nosy co-workers? PRDesktop might be the right answer for you.
The program allows you to work on up to five virtual desktops on your computer with the possibility of reverting from one to another within the blink of an eye. After the installation, you will have access to five desktops. You can switch from one desktop to another using hot keys or switch to desktop no. 1 (the original) by clicking the left and right mouse buttons at the same time.
For example: on desktop one you are running Winamp, a text editor and a PDF viewer, you can switch to desktop no. 2, where these applications are not visible, and open your email client containing highly confidential data. In case someone comes by , you can switch to desktop no. 1 quickly and prevent intruders to see what you are doing using desktop no. 2
The good part is that when switching to another desktop, the applications started using another desktop are still active and running; this means that you can hide your important documents or running programs from curious eyes without having to shut them down.
Pluses: You can hide the tray icon, so that no one will know you have protection software installed; you can protect the program with a general password in order to prevent access to its option; you can also protect the switching of desktops with a password in order to increase your security level.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: A quite useful program used for protecting your privacy from curious intruders. It is very easy to install, configure and use as well.
